Modus of Drivers and Passengers to Bypass Checkpoints Exposed by Police Authorities

ZAMBALES – The police authorities have expressed the modus operandi of several driver and passengers to bypass checkpoints.

In Subic, Zambales, the cops apprehended the vehicles passing at the border checkpoints. The joined forces of Zambales PNP and Highway Patrol Group (HPG) launched the entrapment operation in the area.

The authorities launched the operation to catch the car pool drivers violating the health protocols after receiving reports from some informants. Some drivers have no proper documents for their operation.

Zambales PNP PD Col. Roman Cardiño reported that the drivers were inviting the commuters to get on the vehicle to reach their point of destination and pretend that they know each other upon reaching a checkpoint.

“Marami po tayong natanggap na reklamo na sila aynang-eenganyo ng mga sibilyan para sumakay sa kanila. Iniingatan po natin na sila ay hindi makapgdala ng virus ditto sa Zambales o sa Manila o man sila pupunta,” Cardiño said.

The authorities are expressing their concern regarding the possible spread of the respiratory disease in the country due to the irresponsible act of the individuals violating the health protocols.

The cops arrested the drivers of the vehicles involved in illegal carpooling. One of the drivers tried to deny the accusations but eventually admitted it.

“Para ipa-check up po ‘yung operasyon ko dahil lumalabas na nga po tapos po, nagsabay na rin po ako para makatipid dahil ang dami ko pong gastusin,” the driver said.
