DOC WILLIE ONG – The Aksyon Demokratiko vice-presidential bet tested positive for the Omicron variant of COVID-19.

The Philippines is currently facing another surge of COVID-19 cases. Among the factors attributed to the spike are the holiday activities of the people. There is also a threat of the possible spread of the Omicron variant.

Currently, the Omicron is a global variant of concern after it caused the spike of the COVID-19 cases in several nations and territories. PH is one of those that recorded cases of the said variant. The country is boosting its vaccination efforts to fight the spread of the virus.

Previously, two (2) mass vaccination drives were held as the national government continues to encourage the people to get vaccinated against the COVID-19. The country is pushing for population protection.

Recently, several known persons in the different fields contracted COVID-19. One of them is vice-presidential aspirant Doc Willie Ong who confirmed that he tested positive for the Omicron variant of the virus.

Doc Willie is running for vice president under the Aksyon Demokratiko party. He is the running mate of presidential candidate and Manila Mayor Isko Moreno. Previously, the Manila Mayor announced that his team will suspend their pre-campaign activities amid a new spike in the COVID-19 cases in the country.

Positive for the Omicron variant of COVID-19, Doc Willie Ong is symptomatic. On Facebook, the Vice Presidential aspirant revealed that he is experiencing severe headache, flu, and cough. He also starts to develop phlegm and he is also losing his voice. He tagged it as the worst illness he experienced.

Currently, the whole Metro Manila is under Alert Level 3 following the increase in the COVID-19 cases in several cities in the capital region. Unfortunately, cases in several cities outside Metro Manila also experienced a surge.
