John Prats is happy to have the chance to work with Sharon Cuneta
Ang Probinsyano director John Prats shared his thoughts on working with Megastar Sharon Cuneta.
Being part of the long-running TV series is considered to be the teleserye debut of Sharon. This is the reason why Sharonians have been anticipating her stint in the primetime series.
The fact of having the Megastar in the series is an added honor for John as a director. Prior to Sharon’s inclusion in FPJAP, the actor-director said that they are already overwhelmed with all the big names in the cast, based on the article in The Philippine Star.
“Before we went with our bubble with Ms. Sharon, sobra ng overwhelming. Kami nga ni Coco, when we were talking about it after the storycon, looking at our cast members, sobrang laki. You have Rossana Roces, Lorna Tolentino, Tirso Cruz III, John Arcilla, John Estrada, Tommy Abuel and so many other big actors, and you’re gonna add Ms. Sharon Cuneta pa,” John Prats shared.
The former child star also shared that he will never forget the first taping day of the Megastar. When Sharon arrived, John was shooting a scene but instead of staying in her tent and wait for her scene, she went to the set and said hi to her director.
The AP director apologetically said that he will immediately finish the scene so that Sharon can do her scene next. The Megastar said that she really intended to be there before her scene to greet him.
John said that he is aware of this discipline that seasoned artists observe. They really go and greet their director once they arrive on the set.
“Of course, mga dating artista, yung discipline naabutan ko yun eh. Kahit sino pa man, kahit anong oras ka umalis, yung pagdating na pagdating mo sa set, you have to say hi to your director. Yun ang discipline nung bata pa ako, yun ang discipline namin na nakakalungkot kasi marami ng artista na baguhan ngayon, di na nila alam yun,” the newbie director said.
John Prats said that this is the reason why he really appreciates the Megastar. Sharon Cuneta, despite her star status, assured the actor-director that she will listen to his direction.
