Hugh Jackman Takes COVID-19 Result
HUGH JACKMAN – The “Music Man” underwent a COVID-19 test amid experiencing mild symptoms and the result is now out.
The battle against the COVID-19 pandemic has yet to be won by many countries across the globe. Some nations are even experiencing another surge in the cases amid the detection of new variants of the virus.
Recently, a “heavily mutated” variant of the virus was detected in South Africa. The World Health Organization (WHO) named it Omicron and warned countries that it may be more transmissible compared with other variants thus nations must guard their borders.
There is a growing case of COVID-19 in the United States. Apple Inc has even temporarily closed all its retail stores in New York amid the threat of the virus.
“The Music Man” performance, a revival show of Broadway, is also canceled along with several other show performances including “The Lion King”, “Aladdin”, and “Hamilton”. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, The Music Man star Hugh Jackman tested positive for COVID-19.
Hugh Jackman has “mild symptoms” of COVID-19. He is experiencing a runny nose and scratchy throat but he assured that he will be back on stage as soon as he would be cleared from the virus.
According to the report, his co-star Sutton Foster tested positive for the virus ahead of “The Music Man” star. The producers said that all performances are canceled until January 1.
Foster is set to return to the show on January 2 while Jackman is expected to return on January 6. Previously, Broadway has closed for 18 months due to the pandemic. It was only last September when the shows returned.
The official opening of “Music Man” is set on February 10, 2021. Currently, it is running in preview and there is a strong demand for the show tickets despite the high ticket prices.
