ARMI MILLARE – Former Up Dharma Down vocalist-keyboardist Armi Millare opened up about her departure from the band.
UDD, shortened for ‘Up Dharma Down’ is a Pinoy band formed in 2004. They have released 4 studio albums Fragmented (2006), Bipolar (2008), Capacities (2012), and UDD (2019).
They officially renamed their group to UDD in 2019. They are known for song such as “Indak,” “Tadhana,” “Oo,” and “Sana”
On December 26, UDD announced on social media that the lead vocalist Armi Millare has left the band after almost 2 decades to focus on her solo career. The band is now left with Ean Mayor on drums, Carlos Tañada on lead guitars, and Paul Yap on bass.
“We thank her for sharing her talent and artistry in the songs we created together. We’ll never forget how the four of us started out, how thrilled we were in 2004 to finally be playing at Saguijo to a crowd of twenty people,” they said.
The group’s remaining members expressed support for Armi’s solo career. They also invited their followers to support her future projects. They also mentioned that UDD will continue making music.
Armi Millare posted a heartfelt message after leaving the band. She opened up about her exit from the group and said it was her “longest relationship.”
She narrated, “Last June, I decided to sever ties with Terno Recordings, its mother company MTME and as a consequence of this, my band, UDD.”
She continued, “UDD has remained my longest relationship–one that I’ve tried to keep sacred and tried to preserve with the principles I have upheld from the moment I learned that I had a dream that one day I would be in that one band I would dedicate my life to.”
