Businessman in Malate Nabbed over Kush Caught in Possession During Operation

Police authorities arrested a businessman in Malate, Manila after an illegal plant called ‘kush’ was caught in his possession during operation.

Authorities collected an estimated P675,000 worth of kush from the suspect during an operation in Malate, Manila, according to the authorities. Yogesh Sahjwani Dave, a 40-year-old Filipino man from Makati City’s 75 Magallanes Avenue, was detained.

According to MPD-PS 9, the Controlled Delivery Operation took place at the DB Building, Unit 3C, Lenery Street, Malate. A collaborative force from the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) R0 III-Bulacan, PDEA Bulacan, PDEA Manila DO, Bureau of Customs (BOC), and SDEU carried out the operation, which resulted in the arrest of the suspect.

A light green package named after the culprit and mailed from Iris CT Arlington, WA 98223 was taken from him. It includes 15 transparent plastic packs containing about 500 grams of dried marijuana leaves (Kush). The suspect is being investigated for a breach of Section 4 of Article ll of RA 9165, which will be submitted in the Inquest Proceedings.

Meanwhile, authorities arrested a farmer after an illegal plant called “Maryjane” was discovered in his backyard in Davao de Oro. According to the report, 20 grams of suspected marijuana plant were confiscated from his yard in Davao de Oro.

Authorities launched an operation against the suspect and his farm in Purok Puntod, Barangay Tag-ugpo, Pantukan town. Authorities also recovered a pistol from the suspect in addition to the illegal plant.

The farmer was armed with a makeshift 12-gauge shotgun. The farmer faces charges of illegally possessing firearms and breaking the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.
