Indian Man Staring at The Sun for 1 Hour Without Blinking Sets Strange Record

An A70-year-old Indian man has set a new strange record in his country for just staring at the sun without blinking for over one hour.

According to the Newsbreak article, MS Verma, a retired government officer from Uttar Pradesh, India, achieved a national record by looking at the sun for one hour without blinking. Verma stated he trained for this for 25 years with the help of a meditation guru.

He’s gradually built up his tolerance to the point where his performance was actually not that difficult for him. The man sat back in a chair for an astonishing sixty minutes in front of an audience of reporters, doctors, and even some dignitaries, with his steady gaze locked on the sun.

Following that, Verma was evaluated by a medical specialist, who confirmed that his vision was normal. Verma’s record-breaking attempt was recognized by an official from India’s Book of Records, who placed her as the new record holder.

Amazingly, the man’s marathon session broke India’s previous record for such a feat, which was made in 2019 by Pradeep Belagavi, who stared at the sun for “just” 10 minutes. Verma believes that his achievements will be recognized by Guinness World Records.

However, there is no recognized category in the Guinness Book of World Records for staring at the sun for an extended period of time. Doctors and experts have advised against looking at the sun since it is extremely harmful and can cause blindness.
