Following the grand finale, the winners went on a media tour but pageant enthusiasts were quick to notice that 4th runner-up Jeane Van Dam of South Africa was absent from the celebrations. Regarding her exclusion, she opened up about the matter and shared that she is actually “heartbroken” about it.

Accordingly, the reason behind her absence is that she was immediately allowed to return without being told that winners are requested to appear in one of the TV shows in Bangkok.

In an Instagram, she shared these facts:

  • The night after crowning I went to a member of the team asking her whether I should change my ticket to stay in Bangkok.
  • She told me that I can go home the next day and there is no need to stay.
  • SO the reason for my return was NOT my countries borders or Covid19. I returned because I was told to do so.

Aside from being heartbroken, she is also devastated by the fact that she was not able to join the “once in a lifetime opportunity” and the new sisterhood bond.
