Rescue Team Earns Praises After Nailing Training Exercise That Turns Into Reality Due to Expected Incident

A rescue training exercise in Maryland, USA has turned into a reality due to the occurrence of an unexpected incident.

The Facebook page of Susquehanna Hose Company has shared the video footage of a rescue training exercise at Maryland Marina in Tydings Park, Havre de Grace. The video garnered various reactions from the netizens.

The video has been recorded by “First Arriving” while filming the rescue team from Fire Rescue Boat and Dive Team who were having their training exercise during that time. The team supposed to rescue the passengers trapped inside a car drowning into the ocean.

The rescuers on the speed board followed the instructions during the drill but the Marina’s car suddenly fell into the water with an elderly passenger inside. The team immediately tied vehicle into the speedboat.

The team prevented the vehicle from drowning and one of the rescuers entered the car and saved the elderly man before it sinks. The rescue personnel brought the man into the speedboat.

The elderly victim has been rushed into the nearest hospital through an ambulance. The rescue team earned praises and admiration from the online community after saving the elderly man.

The First Arriving film crew was in Havre de Grace filming Susquehanna Hose Company’s Fire Rescue Boat and Dive Team as part of a weekend video shoot for Harford County Volunteer Fire & EMS Association. While SHCo crews were setting up a scenario, a vehicle drove off the marina parking lot and into the water next to Marine 5. A SHCo rescue diver, already donned in appropriate PPE, was able to immediately get into the water and start the rescue of the trapped occupant. The vehicle became submerged with the occupant, who was seat-belted in the vehicle. After a short time, the driver and rescue diver surfaced. The patient was then loaded onto Marine 5 & evaluated by Havre De Grace Ambulance Corps, before being transported to Johns Hopkins Bayview Trauma Center.
