Young Guy Swept by Strong Water Current After Sacrificing Himself to Prevent Rescuer from Drowning
A young man passes away after sacrificing himself to prevent the younger rescuer from drowning for attempting to save him.
A 16-year-old boy named Kristan Bautista went missing for four days after swimming at a creek in Caloocan City. Kristan and his friends decided to take a bath at the creek in Barangay 170.
The victim’s mom Feliza Bautista has accepted the tragic fate of her beloved son who went missing after swept by a powerful current at the creek. She is seeking the help of authorities to find her son’s remains.
“Sana makita na po, sana po may maawang tumulong po sa amin. Makita lang po ng personal yung bata kahit ano pong mangyari,” Feliza said.
The hard-headed teenagers swam into the creek in the middle of the heavy rain brought by storm Lannie. Kristan was swept away by the water current and his younger friend tried to rescue him.
Unfortunately, the two of them almost drown due to the strong current of water. Kristan pushed his younger friend to a safe place and sacrificed himself just to save his friend, according to the witness named JC Bautista.
“Nung pagkalubog ng bata, inangat niya [Kristan], hinawakan niya sa may tuhod tapos hinagis niya po sa may mababaw. Nakaligtas po yung bata, siya inagos na po,” JC said.
The barangay officials would take precautionary measures to prevent such incident in the area.
