Netizens Recalls Defense of BBM on 2016 After Accused of Being Drug Addict
The online community recalls the defense of Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. (BBM) after he was accused of being a drug addict.
President Rodrigo Duterte’s allegations against a presidential candidate who reportedly takes illegal narcotics sparked outrage on social media. The president also referred to the candidate as a “weak leader” who was apparently only known by his father’s name in his address.
“May kandidato tayo na nagko-cocaine. Mga anak ng mayaman. Anong nagawa ng taong ‘yan? What contribution has he made? Bakit parang ang Pilipino, lokong-loko,” said Duterte.
Many internet users believe that President Duterte is targeting presidential candidate Bongbong Marcos because he was accused of the same thing in 2016. Some internet users accused Marcos of using illegal narcotics in 2016.

Marcos allegedly used illegal substances, according to a petition signed by Macario July on change.org in 2016. According to the petition filed against Marcos, he is under the influence of illegal narcotics and has been seeing and thinking things that are unreal and distant from reality, negatively impacting Filipinos’ lives.
Rodel Jayme, a renowned supporter of Vice President Leni Robredo at the time, was one of those who signed the petition. However, in his statements at the time, the former senator, who was running for vice president at the time, stated that he was willing to take any test to establish that he was not using illegal narcotics.
“I have always been always open to it. I am willing to undergo a drug test to show my sincerity in the fight against illegal drugs, ” Marcos said according to the politician’s article.
“Everyone must take a drug test because that’s the only way we can show the voters that we will indeed fight illegal drugs,” he added.
It also issued a challenge to his political opponents at the moment to take the test at the same time. Marcos has yet to comment to the blind item referring to him following Duterte’s bombshell revelations.
