Mayor Isko Moreno Speaks on Spread of Misinformation on TikTok, What People Should ask on Politicians

MAYOR ISKO MORENO – The Manila Mayor slammed the unnamed candidate for using father’s name and the spread of misinformation on TikTok.

One of the 97 presidential aspirants in the Election 2022 is Aksyon Demokratiko standard-bearer and Manila Mayor Isko Moreno. He is running alongside Doc Willie Ong who is seeking for the vice-presidential position in the election next year.

Prior to the filing of candidacy period set by the Commission on Elections (Comelec), surveys were held to determine the possible presidential candidates in the next election. Moreno is one of the names in the results but he has kept mum about his political plans until the filing of candidacy drew near and he announced his bid.

According to the Manila Mayor, he will be the “healing president” that the Philippines needs. He vowed to focus on addressing the pandemic and helping the economy of the country recover.

Although the election is still more than five (5) months away from now, there are already a lot of election-related happenings on social media. According to Mayor Isko Moreno, what the people should ask on a candidate is what they have done to help during the COVID-19 pandemic in the country.

Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the Manila Mayor hit a candidate who uses father’s name. He stressed that the basis should not be what other people have done but what a certain candidate has done.

“Dapat tanungin where were you when we needed you most? Hindi ito [what] my father did. [Dapat] What did you do?” the Mayor said.

According to the report, Mayor Isko also slammed the candidate for allegedly using TikTok to spread misleading information. The Manila Mayor claimed that technology is being used to blur the vision of the people so they won’t anymore ask for what they will allegedly remember are the gossips.

The Manila Mayor refused to name the candidate he’s referring to saying it has nothing to do with his personalities and stressed that he is trying to make the people realize the outcome of their decisions in the future.
