Sara Duterte’s Staff Involved in Raid from Party in Davao de Oro Due to Drugs Fired

Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte’s staff allegedly attended a party in Davao de Oro that was later raided due to drugs sacked from the post.

After being involved in a recent narcotics raid in Mabini, Davao de Oro, Davao City information officer Jefry Tupas was fired from his job, according to the city mayor’s office. According to the report, Tupas was one of the attendees invited to the party.

“Last Sunday, Jefry signified [her] resignation and on the same moment [she] was informed that she is terminated from work with the City Government of Davao,” the statement from the City Mayor’s Office said.

“The details of the raid are known only to the PDEA officers in Davao de Oro and Ms. Tupas,” it added.

Tupas, on the other hand, claimed she was one of the party’s guests who left “after supper” with her boyfriend and another friend. The Davao City Information Office is a place where you may get information about the city. She denied being one of 17 people detained by officials after being found with party drugs at a resort.

“I was there because like the other guests, I was invited. But I left right after dinner with my boyfriend and another friend, ” Tupas said in a statement on Tuesday.

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) -Davao apprehended 17 people and confiscated party drugs worth P1.5 million during the raid. The accused were also caught in possession of shabu and marijuana, in addition to party drugs.

Some of the suspects are from famous Davao City families, according to the PDEA-Davao. Revsan Ethelbert P. Elizalde, 33, was one among those arrested for selling drugs to a police officer.

Elizalde is reportedly said to have celebrated her birthday at the resort and invited friends. Tupas, on the other hand, was photographed at the birthday party and posted to social media, but his name did not appear on the list of those arrested.
