Manila Mayor Isko Moreno Speaks on Mandatory Face Shield Policy
MAYOR ISKO MORENO – The Manila Mayor said that he will lift the mandatory face shield policy except in hospitals and medical settings.
The Philippines remain under community quarantine measures for more than a year and a half now due to the existing COVID-19 pandemic. Currently, Metro Manila is under localized lockdowns that observe the alert level system.
The Department of Health (DOH) previously expressed that widespread lockdowns may no longer be effective in the capital region as the people need to go out for work. The national government and the health authorities continue to urge the public to observe the proper health protocols.
The wearing of face shields now is still required in most indoor establishments while the wearing of face masks is a must in both outdoor and indoor areas. Recently, Mayor Isko Moreno spoke on the mandatory face shield policy.
Based on a recent report from ABS-CBN News, Mayor Isko Moreno expressed that he will remove the mandatory face shield policy in Manila except in hospitals or medical settings.

Mayor Isko is one of the presidential candidates in the Election 2022. He vowed to the healing president and to give focus in the COVID-19 pandemic in case he wins the top government post in the election next year. He is the standard-bearer of Aksyon Demokratiko.
The Manila City Mayor is running with Doc Willie Ong who will be vying for the vice-presidential seat. The doctor said that he will not give extraordinary promises but if he will win as vice president, he will focus on pushing for free medicines, hospital treatment, and health advice for the people. He also vowed that he will not steal from the government.
