Will Mayor Isko Moreno prioritize Endo?

ISKO MORENO – The Manila City Mayor spoke on his stand with regards to the regularization of the contractual workers or endo.

Some presidential aspirants for the Election 2022 have started to speak their stand regarding some national concerns in the Philippines. According to the Commission on Elections (COMELEC), there are 97 people who filed their candidacy for president during the period set for the filing of the Certificates of Candidacy (COCs).

One of the presidential aspirants in Manila Mayor Isko Moreno. He is the standard-bearer of Aksyon Demoktratiko and his running mate is Doc Willie Ong. When he announced his bid for president, the capital city mayor criticized the efforts of the government in fighting the COVID-19 pandemic. He stressed that a lot of people are dying of the virus.

Recently, he expressed that the funds for the pandemic were used inappropriately. According to him, he wants to procure more oxygen and medicines needed in the treatment of the patients and build more isolation facilities.

Recently, Mayor Isko Moreno revealed his stand on another issue – the contractualization of employees in the Philippines. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the Manila Mayor expressed that endo is not his priority. He stressed that what he wants for the Filipinos is to have a job.

“That’s the least of my problems. What I want is for you to have jobs: temporary immediate,” Mayor Isko said.

According to Mayor Isko, he wants the Filipinos to work first and when the country is already progressing, endo may be tackled. He stressed that it is really possible if the situation in the country gets better.

The Manila Mayor is pushing for economic programs that will help businesses in the country amid the pandemic. Thousands of businesses are struggling to stay afloat amid the situation now. Unfortunately, many businesses were not able to cope with the demands of the pandemic thus they have to temporarily or permanently close.
