LPA Off Butuan City to Bring Rains Over Visayas and Mindanao, According to PAGASA

The state weather bureau PAGASA detected a low-pressure area off Butuan City and it is expected to bring rains over parts of Visayas and Mindanao.

On Tuesday (November 2, 2021), Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration reported that a low-pressure area located near Butuan City would affect some parts of the country.

PAGASA reported that the LPA would bring cloudy to rainy condition over some parts of the country. However, it has a slight chance of developing into a tropical cyclone in the next 24 hours.

“This weather disturbance has a very low chance of developing into a tropical cyclone in the next 24 hours,” Pagasa said.

The LPA is expected to bring light to moderate rain with at times heavy rain over Eastern Samar, Samar, Biliran, Leyte, Southern Leyte, Bohol, Camiguin, Agusan del Norte, Surigao del Norte and Dinagat Islands.

The weather agency has also raised heavy rainfall warning over Biliran Islands wherein possible flash floods and landslides are expected in low-lying areas. Light to moderate with occasional heavy rains are expected over Cebu, Eastern and Northern Bohol.

Northern Samar including the Lapinig, Palapag, Mapanas, Gamay, Catubig would have moderate to heavy rainshowers with lightning and strong winds.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition would remain slight to moderate over the rest of Visayas, Occidental Mindoro, and Palawan including Kalayaan Islands.
