PAGASA Says Amihan to Affect PH Weather Condition Over the Weekend

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the northeast monsoon will bring cloudy condition and scattered rain showers over some parts of the country.

On Saturday (October 30, 2021), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The northeast monsoon would continue to affect the country’s weather condition.

The amihan would bring cloudy weather condition with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms over Bicol Region and Northern Samar as well as Eastern Visayas.

Partly cloudy to cloudy condition with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms is expected over the provinces of Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan, Benguet, Ifugao, Abra, Mountain Province, Apayao, Kalinga, Aurora Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque and Romblon.

The Metro Manila, rest of the Visayas, Occidental Mindoro, and Palawan including Kalayaan Islands will experience similar weather condition. Metro Manila and the remaining parts of the country will have fair weather condition but isolated light rains are expected.

“Northeast monsoon ang umiiral sa malaking bahagi ng Luzon at sa kasalukuyan ay wala tayong sama ng panahon na maaaring makaapekto dito sa ating bansa,” Pagasa weather specialist Grace Castañeda said.

The weather agency also advised the residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

The coastal water condition over seaboards of Northern Luzon would be moderate to rough. The rest of the country would have slight to moderate surrounding sea conditions.
