DPWH Employee, 5 Other Suspects Arrested Over Illegal Drugs Raid in Albay
Authorities arrested an employee of the Department of Public Works and Highway (DPWH) and five other suspects during a house raid in Albay.
In a narcotics raid on a residence in Legazpi City, Albay, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Bicol apprehended six persons. The suspects were found with suspected illegal substances dubbed “shabu” worth P102,000, according to the report.

During the police raid in the said drug den, six of those detained were made up of the majority of Jeepney drivers. Meanwhile, according to the PDEA report, one of them worked for the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).
The drug suspects were caught in the act of using the illegal substance in the house that allegedly served as a drug den, according to the PDEA. On charges of breaking the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act, the drug suspects have been detained and are now in the custody of the anti-narcotic agency.
Meanwhile, in Barangay Alang-alang, Borongan City, Eastern Samar, a DPWH job order employee was arrested for possession of dried leaves of an illegal plant called “Maryjane”. The MaryJane leaves, according to the suspect, were intended for his personal use, based on his statement to the police.
The larger sachet, though, is for the city’s fiesta event on September 8, according to Santander. In addition, the suspect is accused of breaking the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
