Bongbong Marcos Attends Event in Chinese Embassy

Former Sen. Bongbong Marcos Spotted at Ribbon Cutting Ceremony in Chinese Embassy

BONGBONG MARCOS – Former Senator Ferdinand Marcos Jr. attended a ribbon-cutting event of the photo wall in the Chinese Embassy.

Recently, Chinese Ambassador to the Philippines Huang Xilian took to social media photos of former Sen. Bongbong Marcos attending a ribbon-cutting event in the Chinese Embassy. The ribbon-cutting was of the new photo hall in the building which included photos of the “historic moments of China-Philippines relations” as the Chinese Ambassador has described.

Xilian specifically stressed an event shown in one photo wherein the late former President Ferdinand E. Marcos was signing the Joint Communique on the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between the Philippines and Chine together with then Chinese Premier Zhou Enlai in June 1975.

The Chinese Ambassador stated that it was a “great honor” to have the former Senator at the ribbon-cutting event. He hopes that more and more people will be committed to boosting the partnership between the Philippines and China. “Together, we are opening up a brighter future,” Xilian stated in his Facebook post.

Former Sen. Bongbong Marcos attended the ribbon-cutting event in the Chinese Embassy together with his wife, Liza Araneta-Marcos, their son Joseph Simon, and House Majority Leader Martin Romualdez.

The former Senator is one of those who filed their Certificates of Candidacy (COCs) for president in the Election 2022. Undeniably, his presidential bid has triggered the reopening of the talks about the regime of his late father, former dictator Ferdinand Marcos Sr.

Marcos Jr. or more commonly called “BBM” did not announce whether or not he will have a running-mate in the upcoming election. Previously, he admitted that he’s planning to tap President Rodrigo Roa Duterte who was the vice presidential bet of the ruling party, PDP-Laban Cusi wing.

However, the 76-year-old President changed his decision and announced his political retirement. According to him, he will just go home to Davao City and prepare his defense to the investigation of the International Criminal Court (ICC).
