Congressman-aspirant Arjo Atayde talks about marriage and settling down.
ARJO ATAYDE – Famous actor aiming to become a politician Arjo Atayde speaks about settling down with long-time girlfriend Maine Mendoza.
Award-winning actor Arjo Atayde just filed his certificate of candidacy running for the Quezon City 1st District congressional race. He put himself pitted against Onyx Crisologo who seeks reelection as a congressman. He was accompanied by Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte when he filed his COC. He just added himself to the cluster of celebrities seeking to have a government position.
As much as many people are aware, he is in a relationship with Kapuso actress Maine Mendoza and they are among the most low-key couples from the show business industry. They celebrated their second anniversary as a couple last December 2020, and now, nearing their third year, Arjo admitted in the vlog of Julius Babao that they have been actually talking about marriage and settling down.
For Arjo, he is not wasting time anymore because he is already at the right age. Also, he believes that he has already found her as the one from him and he’s overwhelmed by how they are loving each other. The actor also admitted that she loves her the reason why he also wanted to marry her.
“I’m at the right age, we’re not getting any younger, and we’re both very happy…hopefully until we get old. Ito na po ‘yon, I think so,” he said. He also described Maine as a “very loving person”, “mabuti ang puso“, sincere person, and “grabe magmahal”.
He adds, “I’m overwhelmed with the way I love her and she loves me back. It’s a different understanding…I think I found a best friend, partner, nakakausap ko [with] no hindrance being myself.”
Also, his mother, veteran actress Sylvia Sanchez, gives them her seal of approval over their settling down and marriage plans. She might really want to have a baby but for her, her children must just do what they want to. She doesn’t want to pressure them.
