Toddler Shoots Own Mom During Zoom Meeting Using Dad’s Firearm

A toddler used its father’s firearm to shoot his own mom during Zoom teleconference meeting, kid’s dad got arrested.

The police authorities arrested a 22-year-old man named Veondre Avery after failing to secure his firearm. Avery’s son reported reached the gun and used it to shoot its 21-year-old mother identified as Shamaya Lynn.

The police and prosecutor charged Veondre with manslaughter and failure to securely store a firearm. The man stored the gun loaded and without the safety on. He placed the gun in a backpack themed with the children’s TV series “Paw Patrol”.

Shamaya Lynn was in the middle of a Zoom meeting when the kid picked up the firearm with a single bullet. The young boy shot her mom while making a phone call to emergency services.

Lynn’s co-worker got shocked and said that one of the girl’s passed out while her baby is crying at the back. The camera was still on when the incident happened. “One of the girls passed out, she was bleeding. She has the camera on. Her baby is crying in the back,”Shamaya’s friend said.

Avery is away during the incident and rushed home after receiving the report. He even tried to revive his girlfriend in their apartment in Altamonte Springs, a city north of Orlando in Florida after seeking help from the paramedics.

After a few moments, the paramedics and rescuers arrived to help but the victim has been declared dead. District Attorney Dan Faggard said that the Avery’s trial date has not yet been set.

In the United States, accidental shootings have been very common among children for having access to unsecured or loaded guns from their families or relatives.
