Here’s the statement of ABS-CBN on the network transfer of Kim Atienza
TV host Kim Atienza has officially moved to GMA-7 and ABS-CBN released an official statement about this.
Kuya Kim has been working with the Kapamilya network for almost two decades now. Just recently, his name became a trending topic on social media as the Kapuso network hinted that a new Kuya will be moving in and photos of Kuya Kim entering the GMA building circulated online.
The TV host also shared that the transition that he will be doing is real and indeed, on October 1, it was confirmed that it would be the last episode of Kim Atienza on Kapamilya primetime news program TV Patrol. It was an emotional episode but Kuya Kim has received overwhelming support from his colleagues.
Following that final “ang buhay ay weather weather lang” line of the TV host, ABS-CBN released this statement. The Kapamilya network acknowledged the contribution of Kuya Kim in bringing information to the viewers. His educational show Matanglawin had provided helpful information to kids as well as to adults.
His former home network also stated that he can be considered as a TV icon already just like his predecessor Ernie Baron for bringing a new flavor in weather news reporting. ABS-CBN also pointed out that with Kuya Kim’s 17 years in the network, his work ethics are commendable.
“We thank him for his dedication, passion, and most of all, service to the Filipino people. All the best Kuya Kim, Forever Kapamilya!” ABS-CBN stated.
Meanwhile, it was said that Kim Atienza opened up his decision to transfer to GMA to the executives of the Kapamilya network on the same day when former Kapuso actress Lovi Poe transferred to ABS-CBN.
As of this writing, GMA has not confirmed yet if what show Kuya Kim will do but it was rumored that he will be part of the new show titled Dapat Alam Mo.
