TV host Kim Atienza had his “paalam” to ABS-CBN executives regarding his decision to transfer to GMA during this special day for the Kapamilya network.
Reports surfaced that Kuya Kim, who has been doing the weather report on TV Patrol for several years, is set to be a Kapuso. Photos of him entering the vicinity of the Kapuso network circulated online.
GMA already has released teasers about the new Kuya in the Kapuso network. In line with this, Kim Atienza said in a statement that people should watch his apparently last appearance on TV Patrol on October 1.
Several Kapamilya talents already showed support for the TV host. In an article published by the Philippine Entertainment Portal, Kuya Kim had his conversation with the executives of ABS-CBN regarding his decision to transfer to the other network happened during the day when former Kapuso actress Lovi Poe was officially welcomed as the newest Kapamilya star. Reportedly, the management of ABS-CBN understands the decision of the TV host to transfer to GMA. However, the executives are hoping that Kuya Kim will return to the Kapamilya network when the times come that it already has its franchise again.
The Kapuso network has not released an official statement yet about the segment that Kim Atienza will do in the primetime news program 24 Oras. However, it is already confirmed that he will have a show on GTV, the sister station of GMA. Reports also stated that the title of his new show is Dapat Alam Mo, which apparently is an educational show. It was also said that Kim, Emil Sumangil, and Patricia Tumulak are also part of the said program.
