Lara Quigaman Admits Miss International Crown Didn’t Give Fulfillment

Lara Quigaman reminisced the moment when she won Miss International 2005

Fourth Pinay Miss International Lara Quigaman admitted that winning the international beauty pageant title did not give her the sense of fulfillment that she thought she would have.

Lara dreamed of being a beauty queen and she was able to have this dream in 2005 when she won the crown international in one of the most prestigious international beauty pageants.

However, recalling what happened 16 years ago, Lara shared her realization through her Instagram post. She said that back then, she knew what she wanted and that her greatest dream would make her fulfilled. However, she was wrong about this.

I got all that I wanted, but I felt empty. So ano pa ba ang kailangan to feel content, peace, joy?” Lara Quigaman wrote. She said that it is not the crown or the achievements that she was able to get. The former beauty queen added that it is not even her family that would give this sense of fulfillment even though she loves them so much and is very thankful for having them in her life.

For Lara, it is all about her faith. “You see, No title, no amount of money, no power, no fame, No One, NOTHING can ever satisfy the heart and soul but Jesus alone,” she said.  She also said that winning that crown is nothing compared to what she feels now that she has strengthened her faith.

Several netizens who commented on her post also agreed with what she said. Lara Quigaman brought home the Miss International crown after Gemma Cruz Araneta (1964), Aurora Pijuan (1970), and Melanie Marquez (1979). She was followed by Bea Rose Santiago winning (2013), and Kylie Versoza (2016).
