Lani Misalucha reveals condition worsens after battle w/ Bacterial Meningitis

Lani Misalucha opened up about her current health condition

Asia’s Nightingale Lani Misalucha revealed that her condition worsened after her battle with bacterial meningitis.

It was back in October last year when it was first reported that the singer had to be replaced by Concert Queen Pops Fernandez as a judge in GMA’s singing contest The Clash. She and her husband suffered from bacterial meningitis and they experienced hearing loss because of this.

Lani was greatly affected as the sense of hearing is vital for her career as a singer. Amid this trying time in her life and career, her friends in the industry, like Regine Velasquez, showed support for her.

In a recent interview, based on the article in GMA Entertainment, Lani Misalucha said that she is still wondering until now how she was able to surpass that big obstacle she encountered. “Alam mo ‘yun, parang hindi mo aakalain na mangyayari sa ‘yo ‘yung nangyari para kang caught off guard talaga, parang it’s just really happening,” she said.

She also admitted that there is a big possibility that the effect of bacterial meningitis will be permanent. Her conditions, as well as her husband’s, even worsened.

“Well, since mag-anniversary na kami ng husband ko next month since ma-ospital, one year na, parang mukhang permanent na ‘yung damage kasi, sabi nila, at least half a year dapat meron ng improvement o changes. May nakita kaming changes pero ‘yung changes nag-worsen,” the Asia’s Nightingale revealed.

She added that her balance and equilibrium got affected as well. Lani said that she cannot dance anymore but she jokingly said that she would no longer have a dance showdown with Rayver Cruz.

Lani Misalucha also shared that before they suffered from bacterial meningitis, her husband underwent a triple bypass operation. That happened in August and two months after, they both got sick.
