Video of MTPB Personnel Extorting Money from Car Driver Elicits Comments Online
The video footage of MTPB personnel garnered criticisms online after extorting money from a car driver with PWD passenger.
Traffic enforcers are public servants hired by the government to control and manage the flow of traffic. They are tasked to implement the traffic rules and regulations for the safety of everyone.
Road enforcers are also tasked to apprehend motorcycle riders and vehicle drivers who will violate the traffic policy.
The Facebook page “VISOR” has shared the video footage of an MTPB personnel extorting money from a vehicle driver over alleged violation. The video garnered various reactions from the online community.
In the video, it can be seen that the vehicle is driving at a moderate speed along the road when several personnel of Manila Traffic &. Parking Bureau who apprehended a vehicle driver over alleged violation.
The traffic enforcer is accusing the driver of committing a traffic violation after passing the along the truck lane. The driver calmly and politely gave his side of the story but explained his right.
The road officer listened to them but insisted to give them a citation ticket for their violation. The driver and his colleague explained that they had no extra money and they have a PWD patient.
The MTPB employees continue to issue a violation ticket towards the victims. The lady passenger said that they had no enough money except for P300 on her wallet. The officers take it and advice the passengers not to repeat their mistakes.
