Is Herbert Bautista running for Senator?
Actor-politician Herbert Bautista allegedly has this plan for his political career in the 2022 elections.
Herbert’s last government position was Mayor of Quezon City before he took a break in politics and went back to doing showbiz engagements. In a previous article, it was stated that as early as June this year, he was already being asked about his plan for next year.
The actor-politician said that he has not decided yet and that he will announce his future political plan in the coming months. In a recent article in Bandera, it was recalled that the former Mayor has stated that he will give more time to his children now and set aside politics and just do some showbiz projects.
Bandera columnist Reggee Bonoan said that some of their friends stated that Herbert Bautista will not be running this coming election. However, a source also said that people will just wait for what position Herbert will choose to run for when he files his certificate of candidacy.
According to the columnist, another source revealed that the former Quezon City Mayor is aiming for the position of Senator. It was alleged that he will be running under the party of Senator Ping Lacson who announced his presidential candidacy with Senate President Tito Sotto as the Vice President.
“Walang binabanggit, tinatanong ko hindi naman sumasagot kaya abangan na lang natin sa October 8 kung anong posisyon,” the columnist related the statement from a person close to Herbert Bautista.
Bonoan added that the reason for the actor-politician’s silence regarding his political plan is to catch his opponents off-guard. As of this writing, Herbert has not spoken about yet regarding this matter.
