Mayor Isko Moreno Speaks About Vice Pres. Leni Robredo

ISKO MORENO – Manila Mayor Isko Moreno answered the question if Vice Pres. Leni Robredo asked him to be her VP in the Election 2022.

The filing of the Certificate of Candidacies (COCs) to the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) is set to start soon and many incumbent politicians have already announced their bid for the next election. Even as early as several months ago, there were already speculations on who might run for president.

One of those who were eyed for the possibility of running for the top post in the national government was Manila Mayor Isko Moreno. Undeniably, many Filipinos and not only those living in Manila are impressed by how the Mayor lead the capital city.

Then, Mayor Isko was consistent in not answering questions about the election and emphasizing the need to focus on the current problem of the country – the COVID-19 pandemic.

Did Vice Pres. Robredo asked Mayor Isko to run as her vice president next year? Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, speaking to ANC’s “Headstart”, the Manila Mayor answered in the negative.

“In fairness naman kay Ma’am, kay Vice President, hindi naman… Hindi naman, in fairness to Ma’am Leni. I really like her, napakadisenteng babae,” the Manila Mayor said.

When asked about what was discussed during their meeting, Mayor Isko refused to give the details stressing his respect to the people that he has worked with. During the meeting, Senator Manny Pacquiao was also one of the important personas.

The boxer-turned-senator has also recently announced his bid for president in 2022. He has not named a vice president but Mayor Isko is running with Doc Willie Ong as his tandem.
