Cops Nabbed 270 Individuals in Parañaque For Joining Online Sabong Event

Barangay Tambo, Parañaque – The police authorities nabbed over 270 individuals in Parañaque over mass gathering for online sabong.

On Saturday (September 20, 2021), Parañaque City police chief Police Col. Max Sebastian caught hundreds of residents violating the physical distancing guidelines at a cockpit arena in Barangay Tambo, Parañaque.

According to Sebastian, the police station received a tip that a lot of residents were gathering at Roligon Mega Cockpit Arena in Quirino Avenue. The cops visited the area near the substation and caught a lot of people holding an online sabong event.

The facilitators created a studio inside the area for cock fight. The police officers caught 270 individuals inside the cockpit arena including business tycoons and spectators during the operation.

According to the police authorities, the cockpit facilitators and company owner failed to show a permit for their online sabong operation. The owner explained that it was just a dry run and permitted by PAGCOR.

Under Alert Level 4, sabong and other gambling operations are strictly prohibited unless it is permitted by the Inter-Agency Task Force or Office of the President. The cops give the 270 violators with official violation receipts before releasing them.

Sebastian said that the government increased the fine for health protocol violators in Parañaque City. P1, 000 for first offense, P3, 000 for second offense and P5, 000 for the third offense.

The incident only proves that there are still a lot of hard-headed Filipino people defying the quarantine guidelines and health protocols for their own benefit.
