2 Students from Mindanao State University Shot to Death Inside Campus
An alleged riding-in-tandem shot two (2) students from Mindanao State University to death while inside the campus in Marawi City.
One casualty was a Physical Education student, while the other was a Civil Engineering student, according to the article. Students and administrators at their university denounced the crime that occurred there.

Netizens chastised the university’s purportedly lax security. Based on the report, there is no CCTV despite claims that the university is very secured and that the crime scene is poorly lit. Investigators are still stumped as to why two teenagers were murdered inside the purportedly secure campus at dusk.
The Marawi City Police Department has been ordered to find and prosecute the assassins of college students Omar Zinal and Hamzah Rauf as soon as possible. A suspected hired murderer approached the couple on a pathway near the state-run university’s graduate school building and shot them both multiple times with a pistol, killing them both instantaneously.
Marawi City is the capital of Lanao del Sur, a Bangsamoro Autonomous Region component province in Muslim Mindanao. Speculation has been circulating that only one of the two fatalities could be the intended target of the attack.
Zinal and Rauf, both from Lanao de Sur’s Taraka and Baloi villages, were murdered, and local police investigators are still trying to connect with any witnesses. The university administration has yet to make a statement in response to the occurrence.
