What did Paolo Contis say about memes featuring his “as a friend” statement?
Kapuso actor Paolo Contis has this reaction to the memes that netizens created from his “as a friend” statement about his A Faraway Land leading lady Yen Santos.
To recall, the actor admitted that it was indeed him and Yen in a viral video that was taken in Baguio. He explained that he went to the summer capital of the Philippines after his former partner LJ Reyes and the kids went to the States.
Paolo said that he was there for three days to think and ponder upon the present situation in his life. He also said that he invited Yen there “as a friend” and the actress spent a day there.
Because of this, Baguio and the phrase “as a friend” become a trending topic on social media and many netizens shared various memes about the statement of the actor.
Apparently, the creativity of Filipinos came out because even businesses are using the phrase “as a friend” for their promos.
Talking to PEP entertainment columnist Gorgy Rula. Paolo Contis said that he is happy that what he said made other people happy. “Natatawa na lang ako sa mga memes. At least, masaya sila,” the actor said.
He also said that he is okay now since he has already said what he needed to say. Now, he will be silent about the issue and will just focus on his showbiz engagements.
This coming September 11, he will start his lock-in taping for the series I Left My Heart In Sorsogon with Heart Evangelista and Richard Yap. It was also said that there are several film projects lining up for Paolo Contis under MAVX Productions, the same company behind his movie Through Night and Day and A Faraway Land. The next movie project of Paolo is expected to be shot in Canada.
