Xian Lim said this about the issue being raised against artists who transfer to other networks
Actor Xian Lim expressed that there must not be an issue when it comes to choosing what network an artist would like to work with.
In the Philippine entertainment industry, it is quite a big deal if an artist decides to transfer to the rival network from his or her home network. The issue of “loyalty” is being raised immediately when this happens, just like the recent network transfer of Bea Alonzo from ABS-CBN to GMA-7.
Aside from her, other former Kapamilya stars who became Kapuso also were Beauty Gonzalez, Pokwang, and Richard Yap. Just recently, it was confirmed that Xian Lim has signed a contract with GMA, and his first project as a Kapuso is Love. Die. Repeat series with Jennylyn Mercado.
In a recent interview by Inquirer Entertainment columnist Dolly Anne Carvajal, Xian was asked this question: “During this pandemic, would you say loyalty to a network should not be an issue because even actors are on “survival mode”?“
The actor said that network loyalty must not be an issue with or without pandemic. “No network can dictate to artists that “You belong to me only.” Actors should be given the freedom to evolve,” he stressed.
When asked if what the reaction of his girlfriend Kim Chiu was to his network transfer, the actor said that she clapped for him when he told her about this. “We don’t meddle in each other’s careers. I don’t need to ask permission from Kim when I accept a project. Same goes for her,” he said.
Xian Lim added that he is not convincing in any way his girlfriend to jump to the other side with him as well. He said that if Kim will do it, it should be her decision and not because he has something to do with it. “We let each other grow as artists and individuals without growing apart,” the actor said.
