Paolo Contis admitted that he and Yen Santos were together in Baguio
Philippines’ summer capital Baguio trended on Twitter after actor Paolo Contis admitted that he invited his A Faraway Land leading lady Yen Santos there “as a friend”.
To recall, videos and photos of Paolo circulated online showing that he was in the said city with a woman. These surfaced on social media after the controversial interview of LJ Reyes on Boy Abunda’s YouTube channel.
Veteran showbiz reporter Cristy Fermin denied that the two personalities in the viral video were Paolo and Yen. However, eventually, Cristy confirmed that it was indeed the stars of the Netflix movie.
In his Instagram post addressing this issue, Paolo Contis admitted that he cheated on LJ Reyes while they were together. However, he stressed that Yen Santos has nothing to do with their breakup.
Although he admitted that it was indeed he and Yen who were in the viral video, he said that he invited her there “as a friend”.
“When LJ left for the States with the kids, I went to Baguio for 3 days dahil ayaw ko sa Manila at gusto kong makapag isip isip. Naging insensitive ako about the possible effects nung issue and I invited Yen for a day para may makausap since malapit lang siya sa North din. She went there as a friend. Hindi ko naisip na madadamay siya ng ganito. I’m sorry for this,” he wrote.
Because of this, Baguio is one of the top Twitter trends on Thursday as netizens reacted to the statement of Paolo. There were those who shared funny posts about how they want to invite someone as well to spend time together there as a friend.
