Pres. Duterte Speaks About “Consolation” over COVID-19 Fight
DUTERTE – Philippine President Rodrigo Roa Duterte commended Health Secretary Francisco Duque III anew over the COVID-19 fight.
So far, one of the biggest challenges ever faced by the Philippines and several countries across the globe is the COVID-19 pandemic. Millions of individuals in the different nations died of the said coronavirus disease.
Reported to have first been recorded in China, the COVID-19 pandemic spread fast across the globe. Even the World Health Organization (WHO) was alarmed by the speed of its spread and the international body also warned countries not to let their guards down early to prevent another wave of the disease.
Sadly, in several nations in the world, the COVID-19 cases dropped and rose once again for another wave. Travel restrictions are still up and community quarantine measures are also implemented.

In the Philippines, the whole country is under community quarantine measures depending on the COVID-19 status of an area. The country recently reached the 2-million mark in the COVID-19 cases. Out of the said number, 1.8 million patients have already recovered.
Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte commended Department of Health (DOH) Sec. Francisco Duque III and the health workers in the recoveries of the COVID-19 patients in the country. He tagged the recoveries as a “consolation” in the fight.
“That is a very good reflection what our health people are doing, and I would like also to commend Secretary Duque for that,” the Chief Executive said.
Many doctors, nurses, and health professionals contracted COVID-19 in the line of work. According to the report, at least 103 health workers died of the disease.
Currently, the health workers are in the move to seek the benefits that the government has yet to give them. They previously warned of mass resignation in case their benefits won’t be released.
