Duque Forever Safe After Duterte Vows To “Extract” Him From Detention
DUQUE FOREVER SAFE – Like a guardian angel on your shoulders, President Duterte promised Health Chief Francisco Duque III protection.
Recently, the Commission on Audit (COA) called out the Department of Health for their “Deficiencies” when it came to their COVID-19 budget expenditures.
However, Duque emphasized that there was no corruption involved. But, following massive criticism from the public and lawmakers, Duque broke down and said “winarak niyo kami” in a viral video.
Eventually, this string of events led Duque to announce that he would resign once he is done clearing the issues with the DOH and COA. Notably, several high-ranking officials of PhilHealth also resigned in quick succession due to “health issues” after corruption allegations were opened.
Now, during his pre-recorded weekly public address, President Duterte vowed to “Extract” Duque if lawmakers decide to detain him for refusing to answer their queries.
According to an article from Manila Bulletin, Duterte said:
“The way you are treating Duque and he cannot even complete his answer without being interrupted. You stand up. Kung mapuno ka na you just stand up…
Because if i-contempt ka nila, i-kulong ka nila, maghanap ako ng paraan, makukuha ko kayo“
Furthermore, Duterte, who appeared irate during his statements, said that lawmakers are already being disrespectful toward his government officials. “You’re getting out of bounds now. Be reasonable and also respect the needs of the human being“, he added.
Additionally, he even threatened to bar Cabinet members from attending hearings or investigations if lawmakers continue with their ways. “Pa-upuin mo nang seven hours tapos i-grill mo, I think malilito talaga. Mawala sa kaikot-ikot ninyong tanong”, the President said.
