Karen Davila Advice on Lyca Gairanod About the Worth of Women’s Virginity Goes Viral
KAREN DAVILA ADVICE – The prominent broadcaster has told young singer Lyca Gairanod about the importance of women’s virginity.
Apart from Karen’s viral reaction to her vlog with Lyca when it was revealed that they shared the same birthday, some advise she gave to the young Kapamilya singer is also trending today. Lyca received dating, aging, schooling, and intercourse advice from a radio journalist while she was a teenager.
“For you, Lyca, at sa mga kaedad mo, huwag basta-basta magkaka-boyfriend, and ang mangyayari ibibigay mo na yung virginity mo. If you’re still a virgin and you’re a teenager, hold on to your virginity and purity. Kumbaga, huwag yung unang boyfriend mo, ang mangyayari, yun ang iisipin mo,” Karen’s first advice to the “The Voice Kids” grand champion.
“Yung unang boyfriend mo, ‘tapos niyan, magse-sx na kayo. And before you know it, break na kayo. And after that, wala na. So, you have to parang value yourself,” she added.

The ABS-CBN news anchor also spoke out about teen pregnancies and premarital intercourse. Karen warned Lyca about getting pregnant too soon, saying that her mother had often warned her about it while she was in college.
“When we were growing up, nasa college ako, sabi ng nanay ko, ‘Karen, please, huwag kang mabuntis nang hindi ka handa. Kasi lahat ng hinirap natin sa ‘yo, parang mawawala ang focus,” Karen said.
The veteran broadcast journalist married TV5 executive DJ Sta. Ana when she was 31 years old and had children at the age of 32. They now have two children with DJ.
Karen’s next advice to Lyca is to finish her studies, “It is so tempting na huwag magtapos kasi magtatrabaho. Pero if you can, kayang tapusin ang kolehiyo.” She also advised Lyca to start saving while she was still young and to avoid buying items she didn’t need.
Karen’s final piece of advice to the young vocalist was to cultivate a connection with the Lord. It is the ultimate success formula, according to her, when you are still young.
