At the age of 42 and more than 2 years after his last fight, eight-division boxing world champion Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao finally return to the ring to face late replacement Cuban boxer Yordenis Ugas for a welterweight title. The fighting senator was originally scheduled to take on WBC IBF champion Errol Spence Jr. but the younger boxer was forced to pull out of the fight due to an eye injury.
The 35-year-old Ugas won bronze for his country at the 2008 Olympic games. He has won 3 consecutive fights since losing to Shawn Porter last March 2019. He was supposed to face Fabian Maidana until Fabian suffered an injury during a training session and was forced to withdraw.
During their final press conference, Manny Pacquiao’s childhood friend and trainer Buboy Fernandez predicted that the Pinoy boxer will knock out Yordenis Ugas. He said Pacquiao is a lot faster and stronger than the younger boxer.
Fernandez also said that the Cuban boxer loves to engage with his opponent therefore it’s easier for Pacman to throw punches. Ugas has two inches reach advantage and 3 inches height advantage on the Pambansang Kamao.
In a previous article, Ugas said he cant be KOd in their fight. He said, “I’ve done all the work and preparation. Over these past six years, I’ve really been hitting my stride and I don’t think Manny can knock me out.”

The Manny Pacquiao VS Yordenis Ugas fight takes place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
