Xian Lim will have a new series on GMA-7
Actor-host Xian Lim has no exclusive contract with GMA-7 even though reports surfaced that he will do a TV series with Kapuso actress Jennylyn Mercado.
For several years, Xian has done projects in the Kapamilya network. However, amid the pandemic, he did a game show on TV5 titled 1000 Heartbeats: Pintig Pinoy.
Just recently, reports surfaced that he will be paired with the first StarStruck Ultimate Female Survivor in a new teleserye titled Love, Die, Repeat. Jennylyn even teased about this project in her recent social media post.
In line with this, it was speculated that Xian Lim will be a Kapuso. However, based on the article by entertainment columnist Jun Lalin in Newsko, a source who knows about this revealed that he has no exclusive contract with GMA-7.
“Show contract lang ang ini-offer ng GMA-7, pero okey lang naman ‘yon, at least, makakagawa pa rin sa iba si Xian after ng show nila,” the source revealed.
Aside from this Kapuso project, the source said that the TV5 game show of Xian is set to have Season 2. It is possible because he is now a freelancer and this means he has no exclusive contract with whatever network. “Saka ‘yung game show niya sa TV5, magkakaroon daw ng season two, so, magagawa pa niya ‘yon after ng show niya sa GMA-7,” the source added.
With this, the source said that it is also possible that Xian Lim will do a project with ABS-CBN again as KimXi fans, his fandom with reel and real-life girlfriend Kim Chiu, are still hoping that they will do a project again together.
The source also revealed that Kapuso entertainment reporter Lhar Santiago had an interview with Xian and it was already taped and it set to be aired one of these days.
