JOHN LLOYD CRUZ – Afghanistan is currently in distress after the Taliban took over and John Lloyd Cruz has this post about this sad event.
Two weeks after the US troops will completely leave Afghanistan following an agreement during the Trump administration, the Taliban made their way into the country and seized full power. A war has been started and the whole of Afghanistan has fallen under their oppressors in just a matter of two days. The current situation there is terrifying.

The Afghan government has collapsed and their President Ashraf Ghani fled away not disclosing where he went to. He left his country and his people. The Taliban say they want to form an “inclusive, Islamic government” and what’s bothering the people on the internet is the terrifying fate of women and children being under the control of the militant group.
To recall, the Taliban ran the country way back from 1996 to 2001 but the US army was able to force them out in months. The US spent trillions to rebuild the country, educate the people, and train the military. US current president, Joe Biden, defended his decision to withdraw their army. The Afghan president left and it abruptly ended the efforts of the US to restructure their country and government.

“American troops cannot and should not be fighting in a war and dying in a war that Afghan forces are not willing to fight for themselves,” he said in his statement as criticisms mounter over his decision to continue the withdrawal.
And currently, a major concern worldwide is the situation in Afghanistan apart from the pandemic. One of those who expressed his sadness is John Lloyd Cruz. He wrote his emotions in a lengthy post on Instagram and it affected his followers as well.
He created a piece sharing that he has seen the same situation in movies. He dreaded the thought of what the war would feel like in the real situation. He is worried about the people, especially the old people, women, and children.
“Sa mga kabataan at mga matatanda,lalo na silang mga musmos at walang muwang,sa mga ama at ina,sa mga sundalo at sibilyan,sa lahat ng tao na naiipit sa gitna ng peligro ngayon sa Afghanistan,batid ko ang inyong kaligtasan. Maging matatag kayo at matapang,” he wrote in his post.
He believes that we may be far away from the actual war but the feeling of sadness and conscience won’t make an escape from us. His heart goes out to all the people affected by this.
