Ayn Bernos Claps Back at Comment Saying She Has a “Mental Health Problem” For Joining MUP 2021

AYN BERNOS – Miss San Juan City Rousanne ‘Ayn’ Bernos adressed the comment that she “must have a mental health problem” for believing she could win the Miss Universe 2021 pageant.

Last June 2021, the Miss Universe Philippines organization announced that there will be no minimum height requirement on the next search. Right after that announcement, TikTok sensation Rousanne “Ayn” Bernos, who proudly stands 5-foot-3, immediately sent her application to become one of the aspiring candidates this year.

Bernos is one of the 100 ladies who made it to the initial cut of the MUP 2021. The Tiktoker has been a fan favorite as early as when the candidates were announced on July 19. She has over 690,000 followers on her @aynbernos TikTok account. She posts content about her advocacies and passions. On her second account @aynperotagalog, she teaches the basics of the English language.

On her IG account, Ayn Bernos recalled how she used to watch pageants and be amazed by beauty queens. She said, “I am officially a Miss Universe Philippines delegate and I’m so proud to be able to say that. It feels so surreal.”

Sadly, there are people who criticized her for joining MUP 2021. Over the weekend, Ayn addressed the comment that she “must have a mental health problem for even thinking I stand a chance against taller, smarter, and more beautiful women.”

Ayn Bernos said she’s aware that she does not fit the beauty queen mold and that’s the reason why she’s joining MUP. She said she just wants to be an inspiration to others.

“Every time I start doubting myself, I always go back to my purpose: I needed someone like me on stage when I was younger. I did not feel represented. So now that I can do it for the next generation, why wait?” she said.
