Biñan Hospital Asks For More Nurses, Doctors As It Reaches Full Capacity
BIÑAN HOSPITAL AT FULL CAPACITY – Due to the rising cases of COVID-19 in Laguna, the Ospital ng Biñan appealed for for health workers.
The surge in COVID-19 cases in Manila has caused several health care facilities to face critical capacity. Meanwhile, other hospitals like the one in Biñan already reached full capacity due to the increasing daily COVID-19 caseloads.
As such, the hospital appealed for more nurses and doctors to help care for patients seeking medical aid as they reach full capacity. According to an article from ABS-CBN, Dr. Melbril Alonte, Biñan Hospital’s medical director said:
Pagod na pagod na po mga kasamahan kong doktor at nurses dito sa Ospital ng Biñan. Ganunpaman, hindi po kami susuko. Magdadagdag kung kinakailangan para matugunan ang pangangailangan ng mga pasyente

Much like a scene from Cebu two weeks ago, Biñan hospital also admitted that other patients are already being placed outside. “Nasa labas na rin po, sa pasilyo, sa parking lot. Umaabot na kami sa isa hanggang 200 pasyente po na talaga naman pong hirap na hirap”, he added.
Alonte noted that patients before only complained of difficulties in breathing. Furthermore, they would usually improve after a few days. However, the situation right now gets worse quicker.
With this, he called onto his colleagues to not give up hope and continue to serve the public in the fight against COVID-19. Along with this, he also stressed to the public to observe minimum health protocols to help fight the spread of the disease.
