PAGASA Says Habagat to Bring Monsoon Rains Over Parts of PH

PAGASA Releases Latest Weather Updates for Tuesday (August 3)

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the southwest monsoon would bring cloudy condition and monsoon rains over some parts of the country.

On Tuesday (August 3, 2021), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The southwest monsoon would continue to affect the country’s weather condition.

The habagat would bring monsoon rains over Ilocos Region, Batanes, Babuyan Group of Islands, Abra, Apayao, Benguet, Zambales, and Bataan. The entire Visayas and Palawan including Kalayaan Island will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with rainshowers or thunderstorms.

Occasional rains Metro Manila, Tarlac, Pampanga, Bulacan, Occidental Mindoro, and the rest of Cordillera Administrative Region and Cagayan Valley. Partly cloudy to cloudy condition with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms are expected over the remaining parts of the country.

The weather agency also warned the residents in the affected areas for possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

The coastal water conditions over Luzon and Visayas would be moderate to rough. Mindanao would have slight to moderate surrounding sea conditions.

PAGASA is monitoring tropical cyclones outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility but could not directly affect the country’s weather condition.
