Long Queue of Consumers at Panic Buying of Oxygen Spotted in Cebu City

The panic buying of oxygen draws long queue of consumers along B. Rodriguez in Cebu City on the second day of MECQ.

The towns of Cebu City, Cebu Province, Lapu-Lapu City, and Mandaue City have been placed under modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ). The stricter restriction starts from August 1 to 15, 2021.

On Monday (August 2, 2021), the Facebook page “Superbalita Cebu” has shared the video footage of numerous residents queueing in front of a pharmacy to buy oxygen. The video garnered various reactions from the online community.

Panic Buying

In the video, it can be seen that a lot of residents were queueing along B. Rodriguez in Cebu City to buy oxygen from a pharmacy. The consumers seem to have a panic buying of oxygen on the second day of Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine.

The last time the town has been placed on MECQ, the consumers formed a long line outside supermarkets to purchase goods.
