CEBU CITY – Cebu Residents go on panic buying in Barangay Guadalupe, Cebu City due to rumored lockdown in the city.
The Twitter page “Sunstar Cebu” has shared some photos of the residents experiencing uncertainties due to the rumored lockdown. The photos garnered various reactions from the online community.
In the photos, it can be seen that the residents are queuing just to buy groceries and basic commodities. Some of them failed to observe social distancing due to panic buying.
On Wednesday (June 24, 2020), Interior Secretary Eduardo Año said that Cebu City is on lockdown as the police authorities canceled all the quarantine passes in the city due to the increasing cases of the coronavirus cases.

Año said that Cebu City is under an Enhanced Community Quarantine and they would increase the number of police and Armed Forces personnel in the area. he also clarified that is was just a stricter measure.
