Sen. Gordon Confined in Hospital Due to COVID-19
GORDON – Red Cross Chief and Senator Richard Gordon who tested positive for COVID-19 released an update about his condition now.
The COVID-19 is still the biggest ordeal that many countries including the Philippines is facing for more than a year now. This coronavirus disease rocked many healthcare systems and there are even those that collapsed amid the surge of the cases.
Unfortunately, several new variants of COVID-19 crossed the surface. The Delta variant which was first recorded in India is currently the variant of concern after what it did to the nation. The healthcare system of India collapsed amid the spike in their coronavirus cases due to the Delta variant.
The said variant was also recorded in the Philippines. According to the Department of Health (DOH), there is already a local transmission of the said variant of COVID-19 in the country.
Currently, PH is banning the entry of travelers from India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, and several other nations that logged cases of the Delta variant. The whole PH is under community quarantine measures.

Furthermore, Metro Manila is set to be under Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ), the strictest among the four (4) quarantine levels, starting August 6 to August 20.
A lot of known personalities contracted COVID-19 in PH. One of them is Philippine Red Cross (PRC) head and Senator Richard Gordon and is currently confined due to the disease.
Sen. Gordon recently released an update about his condition now amid the fight against COVID-19. He expressed his gratitude to everyone who prayed for him and is concerned about him. The Senator still has pneumonia but he assured that he is “feeling much better”. Here’s his statement posted on Twitter:
