Work Suspensions Declared in Olongapo City Due to Heavy Rains and Flood
Olongapo City has declared work suspensions in government officers due to the inclement weather condition and flooding in the area.
Over the past few weeks, several parts of the country have experienced severe flooding due to the inclement weather triggered by the enhanced southwest monsoon. The flooding affects numerous residents.
Several business establishment have suspend their operations due to the flood while some local government units have also canceled the government works due to the heavy rains and floods.
On Thursday (July 29, 2021), Mayor Rolen Paulino Jr. of Olongapo City announced the suspension of government work in the city. The work suspension started at 9am except for offices assigned in vital services.
Paulino announced the suspension of works to ensure the safety of the employees against possible danger caused by the heavy downpour since Wednesday. The heavy rains also triggered flooding in the city.
The city mayor also reminded the public to avoid vulnerable areas and to contact 911 in case of emergency.
