Guidelines for Delivery App, Riders, Customers and Vendors to Be Released by DOLE

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) would issue guidelines for delivery app, riders, customers and vendors.

DOLE Chief Silvestre Bello III said that the agency will release an advisory covering the novel business arrangement involving the flow-chart of delivery companies. It is not an ordinary employer-employee relationship but it involves four parties.

The agency would start to implement a new system wherein no one could tell who is the employer and who were the employees. The department would release the guidelines to give further details regarding the system,

The announcement came after Food Panda in Davao City suspends delivery riders for 10 years after protesting against the payment scheme. The 10-year suspension is almost similar to job termination.

However, Bello said that the riders and DOLE would meet on July 26 to resolve the matter and to come up with a decision.
