Ang Probinsyano: Shaina Magdayao Shares Why It Keeps On Extending

Despite losing the franchise and the pandemic, Ang Probinsyano keeps on soaring and extending.

ANG PROBINSYANO – Shaina Magdayao shares what “Ang Probinsyano” goes through and her opinion as to why it just keeps on extending.

Going through the onset of the coronavirus pandemic and ABS-CBN losing their franchise to operate, the top-rating series “Ang Probinsyano” of the Kapamilya network continues to rise above the situation. Shifting from free airing in television to digital, the show debuted 50,000 viewers and from that point, they soared continuously. And in just June 2021, they’ve reached over 150,000 on YouTube.

The digital success also came as a surprise to the staff, crew, and stars of Probinsyano and the overwhelming support they are receiving is what fuels them to work harder. Apart from the free live streaming service of ABS-CBN on YouTube and Facebook, you can also catch it on  Kapamilya Channel, A2Z Channel 11, TV5, CineMo, iWant TFC, TFC, WeTV, and iflix.

And one of the stars is Shaina Magdayao who plays the role of Police Major Roxanne Opeña, a loyal ally of Task Force Agila. Her character is accordingly supposed to just stay for two months but it has already been a year and Opeña is still alive just as how the show is still moving forward. Magdayao has nothing but gratitude for those people who still watch and support them.

Based on ABS-CBN News, the drama-action series has been extended several times, and this September, it will be in its 6th year already. She explained about what they do now and what drives them to continue doing what they do, “Right now, it’s more than just being an actress. It’s more than just having a show. It’s actually functioning as a unit. We function as a family.”

It’s a team effort and not about “self-serving” anymore as per the report. She also did not forget to give credits to their bosses who, as for her, are not just working to survive but also thriving. She said, “It’s family, more than ever. The term Kapamilya never really set in until the last year.”
