Alito Hukdong Tricycle Driver Now Recovering At Hospital After Falling Into Roadside Excavation
The tricycle driver Alito Hukdong is now safe who suffered a broken arm after falling into roadside digging.
On Saturday (July 17, 2021), Lapu-Lapu City Mayor Junard Chan reported that the tricycle driver who suffered a broken arm after falling into roadside digging. The driver has been involved in a road accident at Barangay Pajac last July 11, 2021..
Chan made the announced on his Facebook page that the tricycle driver is currently recuperating after a successful surgery at the Lapu-Lapu City District Hospital. Hukdong’s wife also suffered injuries due to the incident.
The city mayor said that he would make sure that the GT Construction, the project contractor would answer them for their negligence despite the victim’s health development. Aside from Hukdong, a Korean national also fell into the excavation.
“Even if we shouldered the expenses for the stainless (steel for the broken arm) and the payment of the private doctor, who operated on Alito, it does not mean that the contractor is already free of his responsibility. The contractor should still face the consequences of his negligence for putting two lives at risk including the car driver that also fell into the diggings,” Chan said.
The contractor have installed warning devices such as yellow line and concrete barriers at the site but Chan reiterated that the contractor just installed it after the accident.
