PAGASA Says Tropical Depression Fabian to Enhance Habagat

PAGASA Releases Latest Weather Update for Saturday (July 17)

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the Tropical Depression Fabian would enhance the southwest monsoon.

On Saturday (July 17, 2021), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. Tropical Depression Fabian would affect the country’s weather condition.

Tropical Depression Fabian has maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 70 kph. It has been last spotted at 1,365 kilometers east of extreme northern Luzon.

Fabian will stay far from the country’s landmass until early Sunday morning (July 18). No tropical cyclone wind signal has been raised. The tropical depression would leave the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Monday evening (July 19).

The Localized Thunderstorms would bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms over the provinces of Batanes, Cagayan, Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Apayao, Abra, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Ifugao, Benguet, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Pangasinan and Aurora.

The southwest monsoon would have cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms Whole Visayas, Palawan including Kalayaan Islands and Occidental Mindoro. Zamboanga Peninsula, Tawi-Tawi, Sulu and Basilan would experience the same weather conditions.

The coastal water condition over Southern Luzon and Visayas would be moderate to rough. The rest of Luzon and Mindanao would be slight to moderate, according to the weather bureau.
